It’s called Amal (Hope) and the objective is to raise money to help remove the facial scars of gender violence victims. Heya Masr participated in support of all women and as a stand against violence. The event included Zumba dancing for women & fitness activity, that has been associated with charity & awareness events all over the world. ESWIH has collaborated with Zumba instructors to organize an event that is specifically targeted to raise money to help treat low-income and disadvantaged women with skin scarring due to physical assaults.
In Feb 2015 with cooperation with Egypt Runners, Heya Masr participated with a team of its members for a 10 km run standing in support of women and stand against women violence. The event was a huge one with many other organizations participating. Thousands of men and women run side by side in support of women safely and rights.
This was the first public event for Heya Masr. Cairo, 28th February, 2014.
Since May 2013, over 1000 women joined “IGMADI”– a series of ladies-only
Zumba Fitness and WenDo Self Defense events that empowers women to stand up to sexual harassment and violence through physical fitness, body awareness, confidence and knowledge.
Heya Masr participated in the event & was featured on main event strange. Since then and the partnership between Heya Masr and IGMADI continues to grow.
In mid 2014, the Heya Masr team traveled to Alexandria to join IGMADI 5 event.
In March of 2015, in celebration of International Women Day and in cooperation with UNICEF, Heya Masr Founder Moody Demetry and team member Heba El Kordy participated in the online event by sending motivational messages to women in Egypt as part of photo shoot social media campaign.
This UN women event was different from all others, as it was targeting unprivileged women in Cairo. The UN along side IGMADI bus shuttled hundreds of women and their young daughters to part take of this event which was centered around sexual harassment and stopping violence against females.
Heya Masr took part of the event to market our effort of building girls charterer mentally and physically through 9 month activities based educational programs that targeting young girls in those unprivileged communities starting at age 9.
