Heya Masr has been having a great start of 2017. We have accomplished a lot during the last three month.
Within the first week of January 2017, and after a long and painful process. Heya Masr has moved from simply working for the past three years as an initiative to become fully non-profit organization (NGO) registered in Ain Shams, Cairo Egypt. This marks a huge milestone for us, as we embark on a new journey to extend our impact in Cairo and outside of Cairo.
Boys Class Graduation!
Late 2016, we started our programs with young boys. Last month, twelve boys completed a 3-month program and finished the first level of our program. We invested in developing their characters, guiding them in self-discovery, educating them on nutritious and healthy eating, in addition to harassment awareness program and gender equality sessions. We believe only strong, confident, and well informed young generations can grow to build the future we hope for Egypt and for themselves.
We continue to Give the Gift of Education and Empowerment!

Girls Class Graduation!
This is a huge milestone, this class has been in session for almost a full year. The girls attended and passed all three levels of our program. This long-term program is the key difference in our organization and mission. Our mission is to leave a lasting impact on the girls by invest long-term in empowering them, in order to build stronger characters able to challenge the difficulties in our society and overcome them with hope to build a better future. The focus is to teach them all about themselves physically and emotionally and better equip them with the intelligence to make educated decisions for whatever faces them. When it comes to choosing friends, their food, or standing up for themselves when it comes to bullying and harassment.

In February, we conducted our annual training. Male and female volunteers attended the full day training. Volunteers will be placed in our new classes starting very soon. We are thankful for the instructors’ team working on making Heya Masr a success story with lasting impact on the future of Egypt. Special thanks to Fatma Helmy, Ereny Rezekalla, and Marwa Mustafa.
We had a great time getting together as a team! The instructors from different classes along with board members and founder enjoyed an evening of dining. We had many laughs and shared stories and lessons learned from each class. It was a very productive time and very motivating. Instructors were acknowledged for their commitment and dedication to Heya Masr and its mission.
Founder Visits to Classes!
In February, it was a pleasure to stop by the classes and meet the girls in class. Our program runs for 9 months, which proven to build a long-term relationship with our participants. This, in turn, helps us shape and impact their character and future. I was delighted to meet the girls who I haven’t seen for 6 months and see the changes they have experienced as a result of our program. Go watch Fatma Hamdy who is 13 years old testimony.
